Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Exploring the "off the beaten path" version of Europe
ABOUT ME
I'm 20 and working in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany for a ski resort. I've been here since Jan 2010, and will remain until probably Feb 2012. I've gotten to do a lot of travelling thus far, and I am definitely looking forward to more adventures! I'm in love with Bavaria and all of its charming history and tradition; but I like exploring all areas of the world!
PHILOSOPHY
I'm not religious, but I don't discourage others from finding or practicing their own religion. My philosophy has always been to try my best to accept others, and even if I can't necessarily accept someone's beliefs or actions, I try to at least understand them. There is too much negativity and hostility in this world to not even try to understand others.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
So far, I have neither surfed or hosted, but I'm hoping that will change soon!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Although I had heard of Couch Surfing before, I was determined to join after a best friend signed up. She met up with some other Couch Surfers in St.Louis, and I tagged along. We volunteered at a holiday party for refugee children, and it was so incredible seeing how couch surfing can lead to meeting new people, but also that it can lead to community service that has immense impact on others. I was blown away at how genuine and encouraging other Couch Surfers were, and I knew that joining would be a great decision, even if I never get to surf or host!
Update: Still have yet to CouchSurf in Europe, but some close friends have had good experiences with it. I'm tired of hostels, so I'm looking to give CS a whirl!
