I love people, traveling, learning from others, exploring new places, and living life fully! This summer (2017) I will be in London for my Ph.D. studies and need to find places to crash. I am doing research on domestic violence in the U.K., but it is unfunded so I am looking for a couch to crash on and new friends to make to explore this amazing city. :)

As a Canadian who has travelled to 34 countries for work and fun, I have learned a lot about hospitality and enjoy hosting people at my current place in L.A. as much as I love visiting others!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel and am always looking to meet new people and get a feel for a city from locals. I have found couchsurfing by word of mouth in the past to be a fun way to travel and to get a more authentic feel for a new place.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I modeled in a catwalk fashion show in front of 10,000 people in India once... that was fun! But really the most amazing thing I've done is just work with people who are marginalized and oppressed in some of the poorest parts of the world. No doubt I have learned far more from the many wonderful people I have met in my work and travels than they learned from me, but the love, skills, compassion and healing from trauma teaching and training I do is still truly meaningful to me. And I hope to those I work with!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am happy to cook yummy and healthy food, explore places and restaurants, learn and teach languages. And I am a great listener from years of psychology and counseling courses and work in international development with people from diverse backgrounds.
