About Me

I'm an adventurous first-year college student living in New Orleans. I am passionate about the environment and I love being outdoors for walking around cities or hiking in nature. I want to see everything I can in Spain in the short amount of time that I'm there

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My sister Lynnsey and I will be traveling to Spain this May and we're so excited because we have both been learning Spanish for years but haven't yet been to Spain together! We both love learning about new cultures and exploring new cities. Couchsurfing seems like the best option for us because it is very budget-friendly and it will let us meet fun people in different cities! Although I've briefly been to parts of Spain before, I really want to experience it on a deeper level by connecting with locals and learning about their favorite things to do.

Music, Movies, and Books

Some of my favorite bands are The Lumineers, Moon Taxi, Grouplove, Two Door Cinema Club, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, Khalid, Panic! at the Disco, and really any upbeat, energetic music, but I'll listen to anything! My favorite books that I've read recently are East of Eden, Brave New World, and Ready Player One. I don't have any definite favorite movies or TV shows, but I'm a big fan of Bob's Burgers and Parks and Rec.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Two summers ago, I won a free scholarship trip to Puerto Rico through the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese. The whole trip was amazing, but the thing that amazed me the most was when we went kayaking in a bioluminescent bay- the Fajardo Bay. At night, we got into our kayaks at the docks of a bay and we paddled for maybe an hour across the harbor area into a narrow mangrove tunnel. At this point, it was super dark because the trees blocked out all the light, but as we continued down the tunnel towards our destination, the water gradually started glowing more and more. Once we got to the bay itself, the water was sparkling because of the plankton. It was the most magical, Disney-like experience and I can't wait to (maybe) do it again!

Teach, Learn, Share

I would like to learn anything possible about the cities I'm staying at, so any tips about where to go/what to do that my host can provide would be very appreciated :-)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Stories about New Orleans, playing cards, a bitchin' Spotify playlist that my roommate made, bad jokes. Also, I know how to make friendship bracelets, so I could teach you how to make one if you want.
