About Me

CURRENT MISSION

A Wanderlust Skillsharer

ABOUT ME

I have been travelling in Asia for over 4 years to meet people not see places.

I don't need a bed, or even a floor inside! I'm just as happy sleeping in the garden!

I am relaxed, creative, talkative and love learning.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm a optimistic, spiritual person who is trying to learn to meditate and focuses on the present

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love meeting different people, the language barrier is no issue for me. I have stayed with families for weeks with no English at all (at first however I am privileged to say I they have been able to speak some English by the end.)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been couchsurfing in tribal villages and places with no internet.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of my favourite experiences so far was in a traditional village in 2 hours from a main road through the bamboo jungle in a place called Toro Lella, Bajawa, Flores, Indonesia.

I was privileged to attend a new house ceremony, where I saw 80 pigs butchered with a machete to the head and then cooked by having ceresin poured on them, I ate buffalo meat with the hair left on, I taught 400 kids heads, shoulders, knees and toes, and sang Beegees songs to the kids with a man who tried to sell me dolphin meat. I danced around the volcano in traditional dress busting out all sorts of crazy moves, worshiped some rice and drank lots of rice wine.

I was alone and no one spoke English, It was a truly unique experience I will never forget and I am still friends with some of the villagers!
