About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To live it up now and look back when I'm 80 thinking, "Wow, I really had a good ride!"
ABOUT ME
I'm a liberal Berkeley girl at heart, always looking to try something new and to take in the world!
PHILOSOPHY
You only get to live once, so make the most of it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've courchsurfed across Asia, hosted back in Beijing, and love sharing travel stories and helpful hints about my city.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Met some awesome folks in Vietnam and Thailand. Thanks for all the advice and good times! Also have had the pleasure of hosting and showing off Beijing. So much fun to see through tourist eyes!
Interests
What have you got? I love art from ballet to impressionist paintings to Industrial rock concerts, tasting and cooking foreign cuisines, a spectacular well-earned view after hiking a mountain, people watching in cafes, milling around open-air markets, dancing my ass off, laughing until my sides ache, taking photos of every funky new thing I see.

Music, Movies, and Books
My tastes are pretty eclectic. Some of my favorite movies are Gone with the Wind, Lord of the Rings, and Requiem for a Dream. Music is all over the place. Scissor Sisters, Morphine, Missy Elliot, Willie Nelson, NIN, Sinead Lohan. Just depends on my mood. For books, I loved Life of Pi, Running with Scissors, The Bluest Eye, Memoirs of a Geisha, and honestly I have a warm place in my heart for the Harry Potter series. Not too deep, but so much fun to read!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Shaking Trent Reznor's hand in New Orleans on Mardi Gras, watching the sun set and then rise the next morning on Angkor Wat, making it to the top of Half Dome (and then back down), sunning topless in Sicily, holding my new-born nephew, finishing my first half-marathon after training for months, lying in the sand and watching the sunset in Maui, rocking out in Vegas for my birthday, standing alone on The Great Wall and listening to silence with the wind in my hair, swimming with sea turtles, submitting my thesis for grad school, making the crazy decision to move to Beijing and actually being glad that I did!
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm the events planner at my school, so I'm definitely up on the latest happenings. Everything from how to get from point A to point B, where to see a ball game, local museums, theatres, shopping areas, restaurants, local pubs, festivals, you name it!
