About Me
Hello everyone! My name is Allyson, born and raised in San Francisco but currently residing in Arcata, California as I finish up my BA at Humboldt State University. My boyfriend and I are planning a Euro trip post graduation around late-summer/early-fall 2015. Were really excited to find some amazing people to couch surf with and likewise, are eager to offer our couches for those wishing to visit the beautiful redwoods of Northern California!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Aside from being one of the cheaper options, couch surfing seems like an amazing way to make global connections, have unique cultural experiences, and hopefully make some new friends.
Interests
I'm a Women's Studies Major so I love reading, writing, and learning, both inside of school and on my free time. For fun I like to go to shows, get a few drinks with my friends, or go out dancing. Since moving to Humboldt, I've been getting into rock climbing and alpine mountaineering, but I'm definitely a city girl at heart. I love going out, exploring, and finding new things!

Music, Movies, and Books
Honestly, I love all genres of music! My tastes range from mellow folk to funky dance music. I'm open to exploring new genres of music all around the world.
I'm interested in indie films, documentaries, and comedies. I recently watched "Blue is the Warmest Color" and "Foxcatcher", both of which I really enjoyed! As a student, my reading is mostly academic (a lot of feminist theory) but over winter break, I was able to read "Dark Places" by Gillian Flynn and started "The Foundation Trilogy" by Isaac Asimov. I'm excited to start reading for fun again.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Eating an entire medium pizza.
Teach, Learn, Share
Humboldt County is beautiful! I would love to show you around the Redwoods, take you climbing, bring you to the best breweries, drop by the farmers market, or whatever else you might be interested in! Possibly even visit San Francisco and show you the beautiful diversity of California. I love to explore and adventure and I think that's one of the coolest things I have to offer.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm an easy going person and great at adapting to new situations. I'm open to connecting with my potential hosts, cooking you dinner, helping out around the house, while also giving you all the space you need. I think I'm pretty good at picking up on other peoples energies, and can sense how to respond and meet your needs. As I said above, I love adventuring; with new people or on my own. I love opening up dialogue, discussions, talking about life; I can share my perspectives and you can share yours!
