About Me
ABOUT ME
How to start describing myself... well I love to question. I think asking questions is the best way to learn about someone or something. One of my favorite things to do is to have a in-depth conversation about cultural and social issues. I don't have an issue will voicing my opinion, but at the same time I am willing to listen to people with very different opinions and points of views.
I still have a lot to learn about myself. I am in the middle of my college years and I have already learned and grew so much since leaving home. One thing I hold great value in is growth. If I am not growing intellectually, spiritually, culturally, or emotionally then something isn't right.
My perspective of life has been changing for the last few years. Before it was so much about planning for the future that I forgot to live in the moment. Life moves way to fast, so my goal for the next year is to figure out how to slow down. I hope to take more time for quiet reflection, and spend more time connecting with people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I really enjoy learning from people. I like to learn about other countries and cultures, but I love to question and explore them personally. I have heard so many great things about CS so I am deciding to give it a try :) I was told the best way to get to know a culture is to "go local." My hope is that couchsurfing will allow me to do that, really experience the culture by staying with the people who live there. And to be quite honest I am a student traveling on a budget.
Interests
My interests include charcoal drawing, doodling, watercolor or oil painting, playing sports with friends. I don't watch too much TV but I love to watch movies. I have a problem with getting addicted to Netflix TV series (mainly Breaking Bad, Walking Dead, Dexter, Vampire Diaries, Greys Anatomy, Game of Thrones, and Pretty Little Liars). I love to swim, in a pool or a lake or at the beach it doesn't matter I love the water. Listening to music on Spotify I really love that site! I enjoy spending time with friends and family, meeting new people, having in depth conversations about society and life. And of course I love to travel :)

Music, Movies, and Books
pop alternative, top charts music. The musicians I am currently into are: John Mayer, Ed Sheeran, A Great Big World, Passenger, Adele, Calvin Harris, Rachel Platten's Fight Song, and Sia.
In secondary school I was really into the Harry Potter book and movie series. I also love Nicolas Sparks books and the movies that are inspired by his novels.
I like to watch basically any genre of movies, just not horror movies :s they are not my favorite. I really get into different TV series to see the list look at the "my interests" section
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
MEDLIFE Medical mission trip to Cusco Peru and
work at the Care Center in my home town. Elderly people are so fun to work with :)
Teach, Learn, Share
Psychology is a big intrest of mine. I would love to learn more and share what I have learned from my college classes. I am also interested in the medical field, so I can share what I have learned about the process of getting ready for med school. I am interested in other countries' health systems, how they differ from the USA health system. I like to learn everything I can from everyone I can anytime I can, because there will come a time where I will be glad I did.
What I Can Share with Hosts
small town/midwest US culture. My smile that is able to make others smile. I sadly can only speak English fluently, that being said, I could help my host with conversational English. I also am interested in learning as much of the local language as I can, even if that is only a few phrases and words, its better than nothing right? That's a funny quirk I have, I am great at conversation but terrible at learning language. If only I had both :/ oh well :)
