About Me

I'm a costume technician and artist based out of Chicago, hoping to pursue my dream in LA soon.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

According to the Myers - Briggs test I am an introvert but really I see myself as an ambivert. I've always been into getting to know complete strangers. There's something about these "single serving friends" {Fight Club anyone?} that intrigues me. Sometimes we're placed into forced friendships through the workplace we're in or school, but through couchsurfing I feel like you are able to choose these friendships that are truly memorable.

Woah. That was too cheesy.

Interests

I went to school to study theatre and film, specifically the construction of costumes. My other interests are special effects makeup, and anything of the like. I absolutely love gore/thrillers/horrors. I am also really into learning about the history of Latin America, paired up with visiting those countries. OH! And cycling. Let me borrow a bike and we'll do some sprints.

Music, Movies, and Books

Son Jarocho {Mexican folk music}, indieeeeee, West Coast hip hop, and a bunch of other things except country. I've tried so hard to like it but my brain just can't receive it well. Blame the brain.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to Cuba. I think that's impressive, if you're from the United States. I can show you pictures!!!

Teach, Learn, Share

Spanish is my first language, so there's that. And I guess since I pay my school thousands of dollars to teach me what I do, I can say I'm almost a professional in costumes, garments, clothes, makeup, hair, wigs, etc etc etc. I don't travel with a sewing kit usually but if you have a basic one I can teach you how to sew a button! Or tie a tie. But not a bowtie. Those are the devil {when you host me you can ask me why}

What I Can Share with Hosts

My lovely hosts, I can offer absolutely nothing but my ultimate gratitude, fooooood, and a place to stay when you visit Chicago. And of course, conversation. Who doesn't like that. One thing I would love to offer is a craft made by yours truly which I can make once I go back home to Chicago and then send right over.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico

Countries I’ve Lived In

Mexico, United States
