About Me
Film buff, writer
Gun for hire
Born and raised in the US but suffer from a gypsy wanderlust, a basic instinct to move and travel around and see the world for what it is. I'll be in New Zealand for a year and I hope to find not just a place to lay my head on, but hopefully a community, a home away from home.
I like to read a lot (books mainly, but I spend entirely too much time on Wikipedia), I love to write stories/shitty love poetry/screenplays, and I think I've watched every bad 80's horror movie ever made. Travelling, eating, learning new languages, drinking something (probably) unhealthy, bonding at two in the morning under the cover of darkness staring at the stars. I like people and am genuinely fascinated by them.
I can make friends with a backpack.
Shoot first, ask questions later.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm in love with the world around me and the people in it. Mark Twain once wrote that the two most important days of your life are the day you are born and the day you figure out why. I believe I've figured out why.
I was put here under the stars and clouds and above the earth and the ground below to marvel at the world, fall in love with it and it's people, and write about it. That is my purpose. I am a writer. I was made to love.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I couchsurfed when I first moved to New York with Shawn Guffey and had a blast. It was my first and only experience and I could not have had a better introduction to the city. Someday soon I would love to pay that forward. I also met some pretty amazing people in the south of France for a weekend in Nice, did some skiing with a lovely family that I stayed with in Switzerland, and lived on a farm outside of A Coruna in Spain. Some of the best friends of my life, I tell ya.
Interests
Films, television, books, languages, food, cultures, music, art...I like intimately connecting with people from everywhere. Everyone has a story. My job is to figure it out and learn what it means to be a human being through connection and travel.
