ABOUT ME

Phil is a Native of the DC metropolitan area. He went to high school in Bethesda MD and attended the University of Maryland where he studied Government and Politics.

Phil enjoys immersing himself in the company of various types of people from different backgrounds. He is the oldest of five brothers and sisters. He is a carefree individual that focuses on enjoying his life and helping others enjoy theirs.

Phil and Shannon have recently moved to Austin TX.

PHILOSOPHY

Phil believes that life is too short, and that there is little time for hesitation. He does not believe in regret and wishes to live a life in which he can look back on and smile.

Phil thinks that the best way to enrich his life is by seeing as much as possible and meeting as many people as possible.

He believes in people and their freedom to live life the way that they wish so long as they remain respectful to others.

All ideas and expressions are valuable in their own right, because of this we should welcome everyone's contribution equally. Freedom of speech is necessary to insure the healthy progression of humanity and its ideas. Honest deliberation and debate will bring forth the truth while deception will sink to the bottom.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Phil and Shannon have CouchSurfed several times in North America before and has had nothing but wonderful experiences. Phil was surprised to see exactly how organized the local community of CouchSurfers can be, and is very excited to start hosting fellow travelers. Come and visit Shannon and Phil in Austin.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Phil has CouchSurfed before in Asheville NC, Buffalo New York, and Vacouver BC. Phil and Shannon have met a lot of unique and interesting people on their travels. Their hosts have always been so welcoming. They all have imparted a great deal of wisdom upon Phil and Shannon along their travels. The Couch Surfing community acted as ambassadors to the town and told Phil and Shannon about some points of interest as well as a detailed history of the town.

Interests

Phil is an Epicure, because he believes that there are few things better in this world than time spent in the company of good people and good food.

He also strives to remain very active by running, biking, hiking, practicing yoga and anything else that makes your sweat.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Phil spent two months hitchhiking down the Appalachian trail from Maryland to Georgia.

Phil lived and worked on a farm in Puerto Rico for 3 months.

Phil and Shannon biked 2,500 miles in North America.

I could teach others a bit of Spanish.

I am willing to learn whatever others are willing to teach.
