I have just begun my one year travel adventure. My plan is to not have a plan, follow my intuition and see where this road takes me.

ABOUT ME

I love being outdoors, nature calms me and reminds me to slow down and appreciate the serenity and wonder that happens all around me. I enjoy meeting new people and appreciate surrounding myself with those whom I can exchange stories, insights and wisdom. I am a wanderlust at heart, and though I have a wonderful home I am forever curious about about other places and people. I wish to travel and make connections for the rest of my life and I am excited to begin my next adventure.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in the interconnectedness of all things. I believe that we should treat each other with kindness, regard ourselves with humility, practice compassion and open mindedness. I live my life not in search of financial success or fame, but in search of passion and conscious evolution.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted a few couch surfers since discovering this service. I wish I could have hosted more but I have recently moved out of my house to begin my year of travel. I am currently searching for kind people who wish to host me during my travels. Once I have a stable home again I plan to return the hosting karma.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted a couple from Israel whom I have kept in touch with since they stayed with me. This happened just before I began my adventure and the experience with them and the time spent together was very enlightening and reassuring. I hope to have more experiences such as that in the future. A new place is always seen best by those who know it.

Interests

I enjoy outdoor activities such as: backpacking, rock climbing, mountain biking, running. I prefer to commute by bike when able. Learning new skills is a huge interest of mine, whatever it may be. I also enjoy reading and always have a book on my person. I like to play the harmonica, though I am not particularly good at it.

Music, Movies, and Books

Regarding music as long as the band has real instruments I will most likely enjoy it. Even more so if I can dance to it without inhibition, and even more if it is live.
I enjoy movies and books that have real life lessons or are based on real events. I enjoy comedies, action moves, and sci-fi. My favorite movie at the moment is called Cloud Atlas. My favorite books are mostly poetry, and my current favorite is Niema Lightseed, and in literature it is Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Moving to Bend Oregon, which changed my life and sparked my interest in all of my outdoor adventures. I have climbed mountains under the full moon, swam in pristine lakes, climbed 5.10's at the world renowned Smith Rock Park, mountain biked hundreds of miles on our various trails, and commuted by bike all over town for a year.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a jack of all trades but a master of none. I can be an intermediate climbing partner, I am pretty good at drawing portraits and I am willing to give lessons and exchange art. I have some knowledge of the outdoors and would love to share it. I am searching for people with expertise in rock climbing and knowledge about places I have interest in traveling to.
