Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Picking up all the hitchhikers I can find
ABOUT ME
I'm dangerously laid-back, stupidly open-minded and insistently looking for cool new things to do.
I have very few hard and fast principles, but the ones I do have I stick to. They are:
-Finishing all the food on my plate.
-Trying to say names of people and places the way they're supposed to sound in the original language.
-Picking up hitchhikers.
-Not arguing without knowing what the argument is about.
-Not eating at McDonalds.
-Not logging too often into Facebook.
-Trying to be one of the good guys.
PHILOSOPHY
To live forever or to die trying
Also:
It's always better on holiday
So much better on holiday
That's why we only work when
We need the money
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Surfing when I can, hosting when I can't surf, and spreading the word when I can't host.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Surfed a bunch of couches in Europe, and hosted some in Tel Aviv and Kfar Saba, each of either of which has been a unique and awesome experience.
Interests
Books, movies, writing, traveling, hitch-hiking, languages, martial arts and deep (or shallow) philosophical contemplation. Also anything that someone else is very passionate about has a risk of taking a hold of me as well.

Music, Movies, and Books
This is probably the hardest section in the profile to write...
Movies: Fight Club, Requiem for a Dream and Reservoir Dogs are films I can watch (and have watched) over and over again. Oldboy for the total mindscrew and best action scene ever. The Big Lebowski for The Dude in all his glory. Also anything written by Charlie Kaufman.
Music: Classic rock and progressive rock mostly, but also indie, grunge, punk, funk, reggae, some country and a touch of metal. But genres are just words. Right now I'm listening to Arctic Monkeys, Nick Cave, David Bowie, Yes, Smashing Pumpkins, Mumford and Sons, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Meir Ariel, Tammuz and, always, Pink Floyd.
Books: 1984, Catch 22 and Trainspotting are my all time favorites. Ishmael by Daniel Quinn punched a hole in my head when I read it. Lately, I've been occupying my time and mind with J.L Borges. I'll also read anything by Neil Gaiman, Chuck Palahniuk, Paul Auster, Milan Kundera, Hemingway, Asimov, Gabriel Garcia Marquez and Eshkol Nevo.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hitched a single 2000(!) kilometer ride all the way from the south of Spain to Belgium, with one of the most interesting people I've met.
Funny thing is, I had a (non-refundable) flight ticket booked to take me about half that distance, but I'm glad I missed it.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: I have a bunch of training in Hapkido (Korean martial art) and I'm always looking to practice, so I'll be happy to show the ropes to anybody who's interested. I can also give an intro to Linguistics, but be advised that it will include a lot of open questions and very few conclusive answers.
Learn: Always looking to learn more or just talk about literature and cinema. Oh and I'm looking to practice and hone my Spanish.
