About Me

My name is Alonso Aguayo Vargas. I am a 22 years old Mexican student who currently lives in Marseille, France for an exchange program. I enjoy reading novels and classical literature as well as writing; I'm currently working on a book about my experience abroad. I've played guitar for over 10 years and I sing as well so I tend to travel with my guitar to play and sing Spanish songs and in different languages. Meeting new people from all over the world is something that truly blows my mind because by going out one day or traveling far from home you encounter a lot of people that otherwise you wouldn't have known. Cooking Mexican food is also a hobby of mine so whenever I'm with a couchsurfing host, I could prepare something for her/him!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As I previously wrote on the section "About me", I'm currently in an Erasmus program (for non-Europeans citizens) in Marseille and my host is an active member of CouchSufring so he recommended me this platform. I'm looking forward to meet new and great people from all over Europe.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite music is Rock but I enjoy discovering new music in different languages, it doesn't matter which genre is it.
My favorite movies are Disney's Hercules and Troy.
My favorite books are "Sophie's World" and "Iliad and Odyssey".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I won a debate for an UN Model in Mexico that lasted 3 days with 229 other participants. I think that's pretty awesome!

Teach, Learn, Share

I've taught guitar in basic and intermediate courses for kids and I'm currently doing two languages exchanges.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Of course practicing Spanish, English, French or Italian, which are the ones I'm confident enough to start a conversation. I can share some live music with them and authentic Mexican food. Obviously my friendship is something I'm looking forward to share with everyone I meet.
