About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Obtaining inner and outer peace and happiness!

ABOUT ME

I am a practitioner of Capoeira Angola, an Afro-Brazilian art form and plan to pursue this for the rest of my life. I started training in Tucson, AZ, but when moving back to the east coast, I had been working constantly and had found myself to be isolated especially involving Capoeira. After visiting my friends in Sweden to train with Angoleiros do Mar, I returned to Tucson to train, but of course, nothing beats Brazil so every year I go back to fill my brain with the culture and trueness of the art form. I now am thankful to be living so close to Mexico where I learn how to improve my drumming skills and capoeira.
PHILOSOPHY

Everything is connected. We are all Gods and Goddesses who should appreciate the worth of this life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hmm...well personally, I believe my greatest moment was when I discovered Capoeira. I had been in a very stressful situation with some really shady people who I had been living with at the time and all I felt I could do was just pray for a purpose. I had met a very good friend of mine shortly after at an underpass where we both jammed on instruments for a little while. From that day, he and I had started to explore Tucson's community more, and he took me to my first drum circle out there. Well, a man came walking up to the drum circle with his dog, and asked to join. He himself had a drum with him, and he was planning on drumming by himself that day before he had run into us. His name was Orlando and he was the first person to open the door for me to get a taste of what capoeira was and its roots of origin. I fell in love with the concept and he gave me directions on how to get to the community center for which they were teaching free classes. Thats where it all began....
