Overview
About Me
Hey there! I'm a University of Florida alumn and former Mozambique Peace Corps volunteer. I will be starting my masters in the fall of 2018 at Duke University and plan on traveling through Europe for the majority of June-July. I am queer and passionate about social justice, good food and public health.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet some cool people while traveling and experience cultures through native's perspectives. I am not very interested in the Travel Channel's "Top 10 Must-Do's." I think popular touristy things are great but sometimes overrated and not necessarily representative of the genuine lifestyle lived by locals. In other words, CS facilitates meeting people that know the "hole-in-the-wall"/ "mom and pop" restaurants and hidden gems that we as tourists would oftentimes miss.
Interests
I enjoy sharing my Colombo-American culture with anyone interested. I am a huge foodie. In fact, I mostly travel to taste new cuisines and learn about the history behind them. I also enjoy craft beer and anything outdoors like kayaking, running and hiking.
