Chi sono
CURRENT MISSION
learn things I didn't know that I didn't know
ABOUT ME
I'm an easy going person, keeping perspective & making the most of the time I've got.
The past:
I grew up outside of Boston, MA, and went to college outside of Los Angeles, CA. Studied abroad for a semester in Paris. Did human psychology/neuroscience research in California and Colorado, and marine biology research on Cape Cod, MA. From 2010-2011 I was an English language assistant in rural northern France, then back to Cape Cod for more research & applying to graduate school. Took a couple breaks in there to work on a horse ranches in Greece and South Africa.
The Present:
Recently arrived to the bay area to start a graduate program in neuroscience at Stanford.
PHILOSOPHY
It's always changing (developing, I hope)!
Some things I like to think about:
"Everything in life comes to you as a teacher.
Pay attention.
Learn quickly."
"A basic assumption to which we cling:
'I have to make life happen. If I don't, it won't be the way I want it to be.'
We're so desperately invested in this assumption that we won't risk allowing life simply to be the way it is for even a moment to find out whether or not we would like it"
-Cheri Huber
"Overcome evil with good, and falsehood with truth, and hatred with love."
"Nobody, nobody, nobody ever sees the world exactly as you do"
-Christina Lehnherr
"...I'd like to get away from earth awhile
And then come back to it and begin over.
May no fate wilfully misunderstand me
And half grant what I wish and snatch me away
Not to return. Earth's the right place for love:
I don't know where it's likely to go better.
I'd like to go by climbing a birch tree
And climb black branches up a snow-white trunk
Toward heaven, till the tree could bear no more,
But dipped its top and set me down again.
That would be good both going and coming back.
One could do worse than be a swinger of birches."
-Robert Frost
Perché sono iscritto su Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
After meeting many couch surfers in northern France, I was motivated to join. I'm happy to say I've started participating in the community, meeting new people, and sharing cultures, ideas & experiences. Final goal? Little steps towards world peace, I suppose.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I hosted a few people in France and hung out with many couch surfers while abroad. Looking to become involved now that I've moved to a part of the states that is new to me.

Almost everything except heavy metal, heavy techno, or heavy anything, really. However my last roommates had pretty ecclectic tastes and so mine have expanded recently.
Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto
I have held a dolphin brain.
Insegna, impara, condividi
I have some pretty good cookie baking tips. I can help with English and French. I can teach you how to throw a rugby ball, or do a handstand.
