Hello!
My name is Alta Millar. I'm 18 years old and am taking a gap year to travel before I go to college. I'm a very hard worker and love meeting new people. I speak English, as well as a little bit of French. I'm currently learning Spanish, German and Italian. I'm going to be country hopping in Europe for 4 - 5 months with two of my friends in March 2016.

*But, before I leave for Europe, I want to travel to California in January. This is where I really hope couch surfing will help me. Would really appreciate if someone could help me out!*

A little bit about me, is that I grew up on a farm and was home schooled until 8th grade. Growing up, I learned how to butcher and clean chickens, take care of animals, set-up fences and how to plant and harvest vegetables. On this farm, my family and I only used solar powered energy and lived in a yurt for most of my childhood.
Once I grew up and went public school, I started becoming fascinated by the art of music and dance. With this fascination, I've been playing the cello for ten years and dancing for 12. I love to choreograph dances, as well as compose music. Along with this, I also love to do yoga, physical therapy,, and even write and create visual art!

To sum this all up, I really enjoy meeting people. Getting to know someone is a beautiful thing. I also think it's very important to challenge each other to open up and share stories together, and to try bring this world together.

To be able to meet people, and to challenge myself in trusting the people who invite me into their homes. I'm very wary of strangers, for some may not be the most genuine and kind-hearted. But with this being said, this could be good practice in opening my eyes to trusting people. To challenge myself to be comfortable with staying with strangers, of whom I hope our trustworthy, kind, and respectful.
