Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I try to host as much people as possible in a city where the demand is extremely high. This might probably be the most touristic place in the world! And also the most expensive!

Interests

Music : Mississippi blues, stoner and psychedelic rock, soul, garage and lo-fi, minimal, reggae (roots), punk, free jazz, bebop, jazz manouche, grunge, world music such as rembetika, sufi, irish folk, latino, lebanese indie, flamenco, west african blues and rock, and basically any music that's ever been made (I spend all my free time doing research). Every sound pleases me.
I play in various bands. The styles vary from stoner and heavy metal to minimalism. Singing is my main "thing", but I seldom do it without a guitar. I also play the piano and drums.

Heroes : Tom Waits, Edgar Poe, Jack Kerouac, young Marshall Mathers, Jack White, CW Stoneking.

Other writers or poets i've enjoyed reading : Charles Bukowski, Oscar Wilde, Jean Paul Sartre, Antonin Arthaud, Nietzsche, Verlaine and Rimbaud, Baudelaire, William Blake, Henry David Thoreau, Bernard Werber...

Cities I keep in my heart, as the French would say : Paris, Clermont-Ferrand, Tokyo, Madrid, Athens.

Other interests : I'm studying international and european law and it rocks (not litterally but i like going to university). i drink a lot, it gives me energy when I go out. My brother is an actor, so he infected me with his taste for good movies (Coppola, Wes Anderson, Sam Mendes, Stanley Kubrick, etc.) but I keep on watching bad ones (mostly horror movies).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A "panigiri" on the island of Ikaria, before getting lost in the moutain at night without water, with an Autralian friend. She thought I knew what I was doing. She, too, is glad to be alive as of today.

Getting arrested by japanese cops at 3 a.m. in a dark Tokyo public park. I was 13.
