Overview
About Me
I try to do the best with my time and to keep continuously learning and exploring. I try to do something meaningul with my life. I don't know if I succeed at it, but I try. On the way to that point some shit happens.
I was raised in passionate and sunny Spain, although I have lived in different countries. I am currently living and working in dystopian London, as it is a good place (if not the best) to get lost, and I love being lost. If you wanna come here and surf my extra room, bring a positive spirit, energy, a smile, and if you wanna stay in my fondest memories a bottle of alcohol is a gift I never say 'no' to :)
PHILOSOPHY
It might sound cliche, but I do believe in the 'be better than yesterday'. Basically be ambitious and demanding with yourself. Be the change you want to see in the world. Be inspiring. Don't conform.
Appreciate freedom, explore, learn, create, grow.
I just don't want to leave this world one day and think that I could have done so much more with what I was given.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I started having non-official CSing experiencies at the beginning, then during my time in Madrid I hosted a few CSers through this network and surfed occasionally. It was a lot of fun and a very enriching experience. Right now I'm based in London and I can't host anyone most of the time, but I would still enjoy meeting people either in London or when travelling.
Interests
I have many various interests, many topics wake up my curiosity. I am definitely drawn to intense and smart people. Some interests are good wine, gastronomy, talking and meeting strangers, painting and most types of art really, travelling and especially road-trips (as I believe it's one of the best ways to get to know a country), learning languages and about other cultures, psychology, cities with the charm of Lisbon or free-spirited as Amsterdam, cats, motorcycles, anti-heros (Bukowski, I admire you man), summer nights and especially stargazing (this is the thing I like most from my country), economy, reading a good book (I usually prefer classics), football, climbing/mountaineering and nature-related sports and activities, being positive and, in general, exploring new things.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books:
I like to read and especially lately I have been very excited about some books. I am now reading Capitães da Areia, the story of a gang of orphans and other abandoned children in the streets of Salvador de Bahia, to prepare for my trip to Brazil in September '15. Before that I just finished 'the Prophet' from Gilbran (Arabic philosophical literature), 'Lolita' from Nabokov ('sexual' novel?) and 'the Trial' from Kafka (a dystopian fiction). Out of all the books I've read I would outline the 'Thus spoke Zaratustra' from Nietzsche to be one of the most influential for me.
Music:
I am into most genres. I would say that I am not into just some latin folklorical music and mainstream pop. Some bands I like are Sufjan Stevens, Alt-J, Parov Stelar, Youth Lagoon, Death Cab for Cutie, the XX, Kings of Convenience, the Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, the Buzzcocks, the Undertones, Portuguese fado and Spanish music (flamenco, singer-songwriters and punk especially). I like the 'concert experience' so I try to see these bands live if they come to the UK (that they do :).
Movies:
I don't watch many movies but some I like are Last tango in Paris, American beauty, Cinema Paradiso, a Clockwork Orange, Amelie, Apocalypse now, Blade Runner, Forrest Gump, Barrio or Life is Beautiful.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've been hiking in the Peruvian Andes. Ridden a motorcycle through the Togolese savanna passing by local tribes who would get out of their houses to wave to the 'white man'. I've been haggling for jade in Chinese local markets, trying to get understood. I've drank vodka in Russian night trains to keep myself warm. I've been struck by the otherworldly Icelandic nature. Explored palaces made of clay in the Moroccoan dessert.
However, the most amazing and intense things I've seen, have occurred sharing time with valuable people. People are what make experiences unforgettable.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would love to share meaningful conversations, life experiences, cultural aspects, memorable stories.
