Hi! I am Alvin. I'm from the Philippines who moved to UAE almost 4 years ago for work. It is never easy being far away from home but it teaches me many things. Back in the Philippines i used to hang-out with friends, and went to many beautiful places. I love traveling, nature and beaches. Staying away from the hustle and bustle of a city, and simply lavishing the beauty of nature is what I love the most. Our place, itself, where i was born and raised is laid back, relaxing and surrounded by many trees and in fact it is situated in between the sea and mountain where I got to enjoy the simple way of living. Back then, everything was perfectly normal. I left this behind when I moved here in UAE and it's really hard because it is my comfort zone. Although, it has been a challenging situation for me; however, i made friends with different nationals and got to experience their culture. My dream is just to live a simple life and to travel the world. I want to travel especially to New Zealand. For me, this place is the closest resemblance of heaven. My desire travelling to this country is understatement.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I look forward to meeting a travel buddy/ group to join with me to go to the ends of the earth, experiencing life beyond city's boundary .I can also host, maybe, in my hometown in the Philippines if I am there since I usually come back once a year. Just message me then so we can schedule our preferred holiday and talk about it.

I am seeking, also, the possibility of getting an offer of a place /homestay for free maybe and to experience different cultures. Life is what you make it and so I'm making the most to travel to experience the goodness of life by staying with beautiful strangers. Having said that, it all depends on me to entertain and be entertained by strangers- with my personality i can initiate them to contribute to my journey. I'm gonna make sure that I'm going to put into action what i have been dreaming ever since i was young and that is to meet people, be happy and travel the world. Yes, i have been saying this many times... travel the world... It's a beautiful gift from up above.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've done many things but one thing i remember is when I volunteered in a medical mission after typhoon Ondoy in the Philippines, that is so far, i think, the most amazing thing I've done. I don't know why, probably because i got overwhelmed by the disaster seeing many people died, and it's fulfilling and it was good to contribute not out of capabilities but intention and passion.
