Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Slept on couches, floors and the great outdoors!

I used to work as a musician and traveled around meeting people and seeing where life and music took me.

My favourite kind of "couch" is anywhere with a nice warm vibe and friendly people, sharing a fun experience together before moving on to the next adventure.

My other favourite kind of couch is the "lucky karma couch"....when I was travelling in Germany, we got lost after playing a show in Hamburg and could not find a camp-site or anywhere to stay. We drove until 6am and slept for a few hours by the side of the road then carried on driving, trying to find a camp-site which was on the map, but probably didn't exist. We stopped at a small hotel in the countryside somewhere near Mollner to ask if they knew where the campsite was. They were a friendly couple and they said that we could camp on their land free of charge for 3 nights. The hotel was pretty much empty and they let us use their health spa and sauna, they opened their restaurant and we bought delicious food every night.

On our last night we played a show for the couple and their family and drank Schnapps with them late into the night. Sometimes talking to the right person at the right time can lead to an amazing experience. I wish I knew their address so I could thank them again now.
