About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Living my life, CS account back on, come and have a time!

ABOUT ME

I was an art student, now working full time and living in Cardiff, Wales, I love art dearly as well as poetry and music. I run a poetry night here in Cardiff that I'm quite proud of, all I really do is ask people who want to read to an audience and folk who like to listen to poetry to be in the same place at the same time.
I have more of an passionate disposition than a layed back one, but at the same time I think 'live and let live'.
I've been quite sedentary most of my days but I got a feeling that's got me thinking I might like to wonder around a little. I wish I could afford to go to some far countries but as I don't yet I have the great blessing of having the Welsh country at my doorstep!
I'd like to be able to stay with local folk who could tell me a thing or two about the area I'm in, but then again anyone kind enough to put a roof over my head would be a great boon.
The idea of this site and community is beautiful to me, seems like good karma to help people and receive it in return.

Music, Movies, and Books

At the Minute:
Beethoven, Nick Cave, Groundation, The Doors, Jeff Buckley. Captain Beefheart and Tom Waits always.
Holy Mountain, Departed, and I'm a sucker for films where people wave shiny things about: Avengers and that franchise, Batman etc. Cinema Paradiso is probably my favourite film though.
The Flashman Cronicles, dissertation reading on Shamanism and Art, the Letters of Ted Hughes, Ted Hughes, Rabindranath Tagore, Buddy Wakefield, John Muir, Lloyd Kahn. Two of the finest books I've ever read are Frankenstein and Lady Chatterley's Lover, it really is fantastic.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once went up a mountain in the rain, when I was on the brow of 2 peaks it cleared and I saw 3 separate storms travelling down the valleys of the mountains out to sea.
Sitting in an old quarrying mine back home in the heart of a mountain for hours. I could swear I felt the mountain's pulse.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a little about modern Poetry. Know a couple of things about Art, Painting mainly. I know a lot of disparate things that Dad taught me about hunting, farming, gardening, keeping animals, tools, basic building and such things.
As for learning, always interested in that.
