Experience #1
At midnight watching lava ejections on the top of the Stromboli...
After a 2 hours walk I was tired and happy to be on the top, I could finally recover. It was hot up there and I was thirsty.
Once at the top I remember I quickly forgot this little concern. During the night the moonlight and stars were all shining high in the sky. With this beautiful 380 degree view I also easily forgot the rumble of the volcano and contemplated boats surrounding the island. I could locate them till the horizon. They were like small light spots spread all over the darkened sea.
It was impressing to be here on this beautiful place and at that moment of the night (midnight). The rumble made me feel and consider how tremendous the power of Nature is...
Enormous lava ejections flew Suddenly into the dark sky, lit the crater and our faces. It was fun and amazing to see, we were all orange, red or yellowish coloured. I kept this tremendous spectacle in mind and people on their boats too and remember when the volcano did its show, camera flashes emitted from all over the sea, boats looked then like dyeing stars.
From where the place I was I could locate people miles away...
Experience #2
Before ending my 3 week sailing trip we experienced a terrible stormy sea. We were struggled there with an unexperienced captain during 2 days. Unfortunately I couldn't help the people 'cause was sea sick and couldn't eat all. Finally everthing went well and we ended the trip on a calmy day. We decided to end this by a last visit. We were to the creek of Cassis.
knowing the place already I remembered how long it took us when we came on foot. If you decide to go there that way you might be a bit disappointed. This because it can be very crowdy. In that case you might not even find a place to lay down. Still it's worth to see it.
This time I had the privilege to visit the place by boat. It took us 10 minutes only to enter the creek, find a place and to lay the anchor and to jump into the blue water.
From the place we decide to lay the anchor we could admire the beauty of the creek of Cassis.
