About Me

I am 25 years old, born and raised in Izmir, and working as a medical doctor in one of the small towns of Kars. Since I recently moved, I am not living with my family anymore, my home info is not up to date. Due to where I live, I am not currently able to host.

Since moving to Kars, my life has turned upside down, hit pause on some aspects and I am going from one existential crisis to another. Please let me know if you have any advice on how to survive these crises... we could also share a moment of crisis together, probably agreeing on not finding any meaning in anything at all!

I always dreamt of traveling and experiencing the world. In 2022 I was in Italy for 6 months and it was a life-changing experience. I studied, worked, and traveled and now I want to keep visiting different countries. Seeing the world, and how different kinds of lives exist makes me feel alive more than anything else in the world. I started using couch surfing back in Italy. The best parts of my travels were always with locals in many aspects. Couchsurfing will always be my favorite way to travel.

About my personality, I am generally a calm and positive person, a good listener. I guess as many 20+ years olds I am unfortunately still trying to find out what I want to do with my life.

I like walking a lot during my travels, learning about the history and the culture of the country I am visiting by seeing museums and galleries, going for hikes if there is time and availability, and of course tasting new food. Normally I try to have a more balanced diet but that might change when traveling - and I usually don't eat meat other than seafood-

I enjoy exchanging ideas about the ways of living, and how the world works. It's already very nice to meet you!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movie nights are my favorite nights nowadays.

I like different kinds of movies, it depends on my mood. My all-time favorites are Into the Wild and Captain Fantastic. I am a lover of Wes Anderson's and Tarantino's movies. The fact that I still couldn't complete the IMDB's top 250 list is a little disappointing... but here is my letterboxd account if you'd like to exchange movies: https://boxd.it/78lWb

Some of my favorite TV series are Rick and Morty, Black Mirror, West World, HBO's Girls, New Amsterdam, Silicon Valley, Legion, Sherlock, Regular Show, and Modern Family. Nowadays I have been watching Gilmore Girls, it's about to become my safe space :')

My music taste differs daily. I like Indie Pop/Rock, French Pop, and Classical Music. Polo & Pan, Metronomy, L'imperatrice, Florence and The Machine, and Sia are some of my favorites. After going to the UK I fell in love with The Beatles and The Smiths.

Soo many books to talk about... Little Prince, The Alchemist, and Matilda are among my favorites.
Nonfiction: Exercised, Into the Magic Shop, Art as Therapy changed my life. I'd love to talk about different writers and books in person!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Camping on the seaside (which you can see the pictures of), taking a train from Istanbul to Bucharest for more than 16 hours, staying for a month in Ferrara during my first year in uni

Teach, Learn, Share

I could share my experiences in the field of medicine. I'd be happy to teach about Turkish language and the culture. We have some amazing dishes. I can show you how to hold the bow for the cello and the basic steps for Lindy Hop dancing!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am neat and tidy. I love listening to people on various topics and discussing if I have the background information. I could also share my experiences happily. We could work out, go on hikes, chat for hours, eat and travel together. I love cooking vegetarian and plant based dishes. I believe I'd be a good company. Or if you wouldn't prefer spending time together, I can be ok on my own too.

Countries I’ve Visited

Albania, England, Italy, Kazakhstan, Macedonia, Romania

Countries I’ve Lived In
