Overview
About Me
I'm a very open-minded person who loves learning new things about the world and the people that live in it. I'm from the United States, but am currently working as a teacher in the Dominican Republic. I believe that life is best lived when one is able to easily adapt to new situations and challenges, and for that reason I try to go into every trip with an open mind and few expectations.
I'm passionate about social justice issues, both within my country and globally, and connect well with people who feel the same. I like to call myself a "flexitarian", meaning that I am a vegetarian 90% of the time, but will occasionally break it to try local cultural dishes and/or to make my grandmother happy :) I practice yoga and would love to share that with someone as well.
Hablo inglés y español con fluidez, pero me gustaría aprender más idiomas en el futuro.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When I travel, I like to see more than the surface-level tourist destinations. The places I have loved the most have been places where I've been able to form a deeper connection with a city and its people -- and that is what brought me to couchsurfing. Everybody has their "favorite spots" in their own city, and I'd love to see yours!
