After seven years of working a 9 to 5 job, I've quit to spend some time dedicating myself to my (too many 😅) interests and passions. Why waiting for retirement? The place is here and the time is now!

ABOUT ME
I was born and raised in Palermo, pretty much spot on in the middle of the Mediterranean sea. Before leaving it when I was 23, this amazing city had filled me up with dynamism, multiculturalism, curiosity, beauty and a taste for seriously good food.

I started traveling with my family since I was too young to even remember, and I have never stopped doing so. I try to make the most out of every trip, and prefer to go somewhere I've never been before. I'm very skeptical when I hear someone saying about a place that "there is nothing to see". I'm a firm believer there's beauty and interesting stuff to discover everywhere, it's up to us to see it.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
In the past I've used Couchsurfing only occasionally, but I've wildly surfed in southern Spain during my 2021 Andalusian cycling trip. This community has provided an absolutely amazing support, even in the midst of the covid pandemic, so whenever I'll be rooted somewhere you can damn bet my house will be open to you all fellow travelers! 🤗

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Oh dear, so many good ones!!!! Real couchsurfers (i.e. the ones not just looking for free accommodation) are most of the time very special people that have not chosen the beaten path of hotels or airbnbs, and are looking for real human interactions. Since I've been on this platform, I like to think I have friends all over the world but haven't meet them yet.

Músicas, Filmes e Livros

Ugh! I wouldn't know where to start! I love books, and read a lot, especially novels. Dostoyevsky, Calvino, Steinbeck, Bolaño, Kristof, Bulgakov, Saramago are some of my favourite authors. Really enjoy watching good movies. Can never go wrong with directors like Wenders, Fellini, Tarkovsky, Miyazaki, Von Trier or Labaki, but there are sooooo many others! I don't watch horrors and don't particularly enjoy action movies, but I'm fine with all other genres. Music is a perpetual presence in my life, I listen pretty much anything available, varying wildly based on my mood (like everyone else, I suppose), and have a soft spot for radios. I don't think I ever spend a day without listening to some sort of notes.

* Quitting my comfortable, stable and easy London life to go traveling the world!
* Crossing the Atlantic Ocean on a sailing boat (before Greta Thunberg made it fashionable)
* Touring solo Andalucía and the southern Spanish coast on a 2.5 months cycling-couchsurfing trip
* Hiking all of the Canary Islands, one week per island for a total of almost 2 months
* Backpacking Latin America for 4 epic months of adventure and exploration
* Summited Cotopaxi volcano in Ecuador, almost 6000mt above sea level! 🤟

Ensine, Aprenda, Compartilhe

I can teach how to cook some Italian specialities, and would love to learn other countries secret dishes. I can also teach the basics of bouldering and rope climbing, I used to go to the climbing gym very often and will be happy to bring any keen new or experienced climber along. I can also give you some tips and suggestions about how to plan and organise a cycling trip! 😉
