Overview
About Me
My name is Alyona. I’m 21 years old. Originally I come from Russia. Currently I’m Master 1 student at the Lille University. I’m very open-minded and easy-going person. When I don’t study, I travel. By traveling, I learn even more.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m in love with the idea of Couchsurfing. I think we should be more open, helpful and thankful to each other. As a student, I’d like to travel more and don’t live from hand to mouth.
Interests
I’m hard-working student, so my studies take me a lot of time. But I love learning new things and becoming a better version of myself everyday. Currently I’m doing my Master degree in Economics. Since my bachelor degree was in International Relations, it’s a bit complicated for me to adopt with new approaches to researching, but I feel that I’m on the right track.
I’m also really motivated to improve my French.
Of course, reading - that’s the essential part of my day (even if it’s only a few pages on the subway). I love doing sport as well, visiting museums and theaters! There are a lot of fascinating things to do ;)

Music, Movies, and Books
I’m an avid reader. I can talk about reading for hours on end. Among my favorite authors are Tolstoy L. and Dostoevsky F. I’m lucky to read them in an original language.
I don’t watch movies often. If I watch movie at home, I will prefer to rewatch my favorite ones, such as «Up», «The Monster Corporation», «Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind» or some soviet movies (there’re really nice).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I went as an exchange student to France. My French was about A1. I couldn’t speak, I poorly understood anything, but I kept travel alone and was never afraid of making mistakes (it was the question of survival😄).
I met my boyfriend there in the 1st week of my being in France. After my return to Russia, I was so motivated to do master in France (honestly, come to my bf :D), so I dedicated the whole year to make it happen.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love learning new things by studying and by doing. As an International Relations student, I was fascinated with the beauty of our planet. I participated in numerous conferences, debates and UN Models to improve my public speaking skills and make friends with motivated and intelligent young people. I’m very attentive and tolerant to others, so I would love to know what triggers you most, and will share my personal view.
Apart from my academic experience, I’m Red Cross volunteer. I keep working as an English and Russian teacher. Once I went to Crimea with one-way ticket in order to find a job and earn money for my exchange program. I have many fun and interesting life stories which I would love to share.
