Overview
About Me
I am a landscape architect that is living in Slovenia with my husband. We spend as much time as we can seeing and doing new things. I live with my husband (native Slovenian) and our animals (one cat, one Lovebird, three outdoor bunnies.)
It says that I have been a member since 2018, but I have never really used the account that I apparently activated back then. I got into Couchsurfing from a similar site on Facebook. I have hosted over 20 people (and counting) from around the world through that site and really loved the experience.
We love food and spend a lot of time trying new cuisine from around the world. We are not big on partying, but we know how to have a good time. We drink a lot of coffee. My husband speaks English, Slovene, Croatian and German. I am learning Slovene.
My husband loves cooking, baking, and making his own cheese and liqueurs. We have a small bee hive and produce our own honey that you are welcome to try. The region we live in is not known for its food, but nevertheless, you will eat well while with us.
We don't like to accept one night stays. Its a lot of effort for not a lot of time spent together. That being said, if you are having an emergency, we will gladly host you for one night. We give priority to guests who want to stay 4 to 7 nights. We enjoy hosting for longer, and giving guests the opportunity to explore Slovenia more in depth.
We are both triple vaccinated.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As I have traveled around the world, I have found that the most incredible experiences I have had were ones spent with locals and strangers. Hotels and hostels are fine, but I like to get to know the people that make up a culture, not just the tourist sites. I have opened my home to travelers and met amazing people and friends. I would like to be able to do the same.
Interests
Our town is surrounded by nature. Its an incredible landscape, that is rich in ecological diversity, local history and modern Slovene culture. We enjoy spending our time taking in as much of it as we can.

What I Can Share with Hosts
We like to spend our time crafting a life that strives for quality over quantity. We grow a lot of our own food, make our own dairy products from locally produced farm milk, foraging in the forests. We love to show off our little hidden gem of a town and show our guests real Slovenian life. When we are not working, we love to join guests on adventures around the country and show them our favorite spots. We want visitors to leave feeling like they have a better understanding of the culture, not just photos for social media.
