About Me

I'm an just a Kansas farm girl, hoping to see the world. Currently living in Los Angeles, previously in San Francisco and Belgrade, Serbia. I'm passionate about social justice, environmental activism, and good Thai food. Additionally, I'm Mennonite, so if you are curious as to what that means, I'm happy to explain! And no, that doesn't mean I'm Amish.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think that a better way to really experience a city is through a local view, rather than just hitting up all the touristy places.

Interests

I enjoy any kind of physical, athletic, sporty activity, but especially volleyball. I also enjoy art, history, and exploring new places.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm big into indie and alternative right now, but I really enjoy almost every genre when the time is right. I've got a soft spot for country, and I'm even finding that I like turbofolk (ONLY when in the right company).

My favorite movie is Monty Python and the Holy Grail. I usually don't find movies that I don't like, but if they don't have a happy ending, I probably won't watch them again.

Again, I like all kinds of books, generally fiction, but if it's about history, I'll also enjoy reading it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I ran 7.4 miles through the city of San Francisco dressed as Tinker Bell. While I was proud of my time (which I have since forgotten), I'm more proud of the fact that I didn't rip off my wings before I finished rather than actually making it to the ocean. Haven't heard of Bay to Breakers? Look it up...it's a sh** show.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good company, a laugh (possible at my expense), advice if wanted, and if good times are had, possibly an open invitation? Suggestions always welcome too, of course.
