Overview
About Me
Young adult, married female trying to navigate through this crazy thing called life. This Midwestern gal grew up in NE and went to college in IA, but has lived in a number of other places, including Chicago, NYC, MO, VT, and CO.
Introvert who loves long, intimate conversations. Quiet at first meet but can let out the inner nerd/goof when comfortable. Friends/past roommates would describe me as conscientious and caring.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've been meaning to do this since my sis used the site in Oz 5 years ago for her backpacking trip. She had such a great experience.
Honestly, I am hoping to utilize the site for a more immediate experience but intend to keep it, especially for the future when we are able to host others. My family would love to pay it forward.

Music, Movies, and Books
Keeps changing as I grow older. Currently I'm into:
Music: Nathaniel Rateliffe, Andrew Bird, Aretha Franklin...soulful stuff I'd say. But I enjoy everything from metal and punk to classical and piano rock. I don't listen to much rap, though.
Movies: How does one narrow this down? Wes Anderson, Quentin Tarantino, Colossal, Mary & Max, Marvel & Disney films
Books: Kurt Vonnegut, Neil Gaiman, The Good Life Lab: Experiments in Hands-On Living
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Amazing, you say? Right now I'm writing a book, starting a fundraiser, and saving up to build a mobile home with my husband.
But those aren't "done" yet. SO. I'll settle for the less spectacular. I wrote and directed a college theatre production about severe depression and the importance of human connection, created a stop motion film, and overcome a number of chronic health issues.
Teach, Learn, Share
Uh. I'm not sure what they're asking for here. But I'm always willing to learn more about science, history, philosophy, agriculture... whatever someone else is passionate about!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Cultural events, an artistic eye/hand, health remedies, nature walks, and a gentle presence.
