I live in an intentional community in Pittsburgh, PA called Open House PGH and I manage a food pantry garden to sustain the other things that I love to do. I enjoy cooking and sharing food with friends, biking, going to shows, camping, and exploring new cities. I love living in an urban environment but also relish the time I get to spend in rural area. I'm politically engaged in my city and work for a more just and equitable system for all.

I've been involved with Couchsurfing since 2009, but don't have much information on my profile because I used my former partner's profile (Julia Baker - check out our references if you like. She can be found as one of my friends.) for many years as we hosted and traveled together.

Over the years, I've learned so much from the couchsurfers that I've hosted, and I've only stayed with a host a couple of times but both were fantastic experiences. I've loved getting to know other interesting people, and I really enjoy showing off my own city.

I enjoy exploring cities by bike and always appreciate recommendations for museums, places to eat, and other unique features to an area. I also enjoy learning about the history of a place and very much appreciate a local's perspective.

I have a great deal of knowledge about wild edibles and food preservation and am always happy to share that information with interested folks. I've been also known to share some mean baked goods and will always leave a place cleaner than when I arrived.
