About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Be a saint

ABOUT ME

I don't really know what to say about myself, I have ideas about things, I think I am funny and tend to laugh at my own jokes. I want to travel and live in great places and meet great people. I have a lot of time and am quite flexible. I can usually talk to anyone and I love to hear what people have to say, especially if is isn't on a superficial level.

PHILOSOPHY

Hmm well I don't know. I don't care about a lot of useless things so I tend to be quite happy and light. I do care about different things so I can definitely get into a heated conversation about anything from religion and politics to books and music- not that I am close minded but when I have an opinion my voice get a little higher pitched and I start knocking over glasses. But I am very easy going and I am comfortable in almost any situation. My personal philosophy is pretty simple- I try to do the things that I want to do. I don't know exactly what that is yet but I for the moment I am quite happy with my life. I want to experience as many things as I can. I have no idea why I live my life but since I am here I might as well embrace it. I dislike being bored more than anything else but I am easily amused so it is not usually a problem. As far as isms go, not that I like Isms, I would probably say political and personal are anarchism, absurd(ism). I don't know though, this will change.

Kilgore Trout once wrote a short story which was a dialogue between two pieces of yeast. They were discussing the possible purposes of life as they ate sugar and suffocated in their own excrement. Because of their limited intelligence, they never came close to guessing that they were making champagne.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have met some people at some parties in travels and in Saskatoon annnd surfed in Europe. I will maybe be hosting people in Madrid. I also decided that I am saving up my usefulness for couchsurfing and life friends so I am always more than happy to help in little ways like picking someone up from someplace and hang out with someone who is new and doesn't know anyone.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfed some in Europe met some people too!

Interests

I am interested in many things. Travel is probably the most important, but also conversations, books, news, coffee, theoretical physics, mate, art, outside, writing, sitting, wandering, crazy philosophies, smoking, learning, music, movies, outer space.

Books- Kafka, Kerouac, Burroughs, Camus, Bukowski(!), Hemmingway, Vonnegut, Wilde, Dostoyevsky, Heller (Not just Catch-22, Something Happened is another book not many people have read I think but I would recommend it) .. I am also an alright fan of history books and philosophy books.
Music- this is what I am listening to now- Tom Waits, The Stooges, Bob Dylan, New York Dolls, Bowie, Pink Floyd, T-Rex, Devendra Banhart, Manu Chao, Fleet Foxes, Joanna Newsom This is what I also like a lot and should listen to more- Woody Guthrie, The Doors, Billie Holiday,Cat Stevens, Miles Davis, Leadbelly, and some other new music but I am getting a little tired of my music so I am open to suggestions.
Movies- Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb.
TV- The Twilight Zone, also True Blood is soo good and others like Curb Your Enthusiasm, i liked Rome a lot, Rock of Love with Brett Michaels,
Also- George Carlin and Lord Buckley anyone?

I road a camel in Dubai and I learned the tango in Buenos Aires(or tried to). But the best times I have probably had included walking around aimlessly or sitting around with people I don't know.
