My name is Alžbeta, but friends usually call me Abeja. I’m a friendly, open-minded and curious person who loves connecting with people from different backgrounds. I enjoy both fun, adventurous activities — like running in the mountains 🏔, climbing 🧗🏼‍♀️, or spontaneous trips — and also deep, thoughtful conversations about culture, society, IT, or moral dilemmas.

I work in IT & consulting, which allows me to explore technology while also working with people and projects. Outside of work, you’ll usually find me outdoors, running, hiking, or planning my next adventure. I love sunrises, forests, and the feeling of freedom when exploring new places. 🌍

I like to balance the playful side (laughing, being a bit crazy, discovering hidden places) with moments of reflection and meaningful discussion.

For me, Couchsurfing is not just about saving money, but about sharing experiences, learning from locals, and discovering a place through their perspective. I love the philosophy of cultural exchange and I want to keep meeting inspiring people along the way.

Music, Movies, and Books

🟡 MUSIC 🟡
I love reggaeton (Bad Bunny is on top of my playlist 🎶), but I also enjoy pop, indie, acoustic, or Latin music in general. I’m quite flexible with genres — it really depends on the mood — but I’m not a big fan of heavy metal or too electronic/experimental sounds.

🟠 MOVIES 🟠
I’m honestly not much into movies — it’s usually too boring for me to sit still in front of a screen for hours. I prefer being active, moving, or doing something outdoors rather than watching TV. The only exception is when something really grabs my attention, like Black Mirror, which I absolutely love for its dark and thought-provoking stories.

⚪ BOOKS ⚪
I really enjoy reading and always have a book with me. I like a mix of non-fiction (politics, ecology, society, human behaviour) and novels that make me feel or think differently. The latest book I read was Crying in H Mart — and I absolutely loved it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Deciding to move to Prague and start a completely new life there — new city, new people, new challenges. It was a huge step out of my comfort zone, but also one of the best decisions I’ve made.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share Slovak traditions, songs, and stories about my region (Orava).
I’m always happy to go for a hike, climb, or outdoor activity together.
I can teach you some Slovak or Czech words, or we can jam together on guitar/piano.
I love learning languages and hearing about other cultures.
I can also share food, my adventures, give you my full attention, listen to your stories and tell you mine.
