Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION "Life is like riding a bicycle; To keep your balance you must keep moving." -ALBERT EINSTEIN" ABOUT ME For years, I traveled around the world helping those in need for my foundation . Currently living in Boston after traveling and living abroad for 20+ years, so I am happy to finally call someplace home, but I still love revisiting favorite places, exploring new destinations and meeting fellow travelers.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING Over the past 12 years, during my travels to other countries to help local projects through my non-profit Cause & Affect Foundation, I have been doing a LOT of couchsurfing and love to meet locals this way. I am a VERY respectable guest and great cook so would be happy to share stories, laughs and positive energy. COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE: hosted tons of travelers and been hosted by quite a few as well. I love the CS philosophy!
Interests
Music dominates me. When it's feel good time, nothing can replace some deep progressive house. And though my mom thought I would outgrow it by 25, I am still a hip-hop junkie. Being such a beachboy, I often find myself soothed by reggae and as a true Brazilophile, I am entranced by the smooth sounds of musica brasilera. Can't forget my Chicago roots: blues and soulful house. My travels have exposed me to so many foreign jewels, with everything from Hindu spiritual music, Arabic pop, African gospel and Venezuelan hip-hop.

Music, Movies, and Books
Though my favorite must be "Amadeus" I must give props to European cinema; the French, Spanish and Italians have taken cinema to a higher level.
I am an avid reader, but favorites include Salman Rushdie, Italo Calvino, Gabriel Garcia Marquez and Herman Hesse.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Exploring Indonesia, I lived with the indigenous Mentawi tribe on a tiny island off the west coast of Sumatra called Siberut. Learned a lot from the shaman. The entire trip felt like I was living in a Discovery TV program. Amazing indeed.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am an avid yoga practitioner. Since I learned it from other travelers over the last 12 years, I am happy to share my knowledge with fellow Couchsurfers.
