CURRENT MISSION

Building the foundations for my life. Feeding the roots that will sustain my experiences tree. (I wrote this in 2009, and still in the mission)

Ahora también estudiar, difundir y ayudar a cambiar la realidad global (la urbana en particular) hacia un futuro de mayor equilibrio dentro de la sociedad y de ella con la naturaleza.

In this moment I also have the mission to study, share and help changing the global reality (particularly the urban reality) towards one of grater equilibrium within society and between societies with nature.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Aunque no he viajado mucho a otros países, conocer lugares nuevos, culturas diversas, y personas entrañables es algo que siempre me ha gustado. Couchsurfing parece ser sin duda la manera ideal de hacerlo.

Although I haven’t travelled much to other countries, something that I have always like is to know new places, different cultures, and nice people. Definitely Couchsurfing appears to be the perfect place to do that.

Interests

Me interesa todo, disfruto de conocer cosas nuevas. De manera particular podría mencionar que siempre me han gustado las expresiones artísticas y creativas del ser humano, incluidas las colectivas: culturales, políticas, económicas…
Disfruto de la naturaleza, pero también de lo que hemos creado como sociedad. Encuentro atractivo tanto pasar el tiempo entre árboles, como recorriendo sin rumbo la ciudad.
Estoy estudiando una maestría en urbanismo, y mis lineas de interés y disertación son la sostenibilidad urbana y las posturas políticas e ideológicas en torno a ella. Creo en un futuro distinto y mejor.

I have always liked the creative and artistic expressions of human being, including the collective ones: cultural, political, economics… kind of everything, from hard science to the most abstract art form, and the most mystic history.
I enjoy nature, but also the thing we have created as societies. I enjoy both spending time among trees and rambling around the city.
Actually I am studying a master degree in urbanism, and my lines of interest and research are the political and ideological postures around urban sustainability. I believe in a different and better world.

Music, Movies, and Books

Disfruto de escuchar los ritmos y as melodías más variados, desde una buena pieza de cámara hasta un movido funk. Pero he de confesar que gusto especialmente de la música que me mueve a bailar.
Tampoco tengo una predilección por algún género fílmico particular, aunque le guardo especial aprecio a la ciencia ficción. 2001: A space odyssey es una de mis películas favoritas.
Últimamente estoy leyendo más que nada textos teóricos y políticos, pero no dejo de disfrutar los cuentos, quizá sea lo que más guste de leer, un buen cuento. Ya sean los latinoamericanos Rulfo, Arreola, Monterroso, Cortazar, Quiroga, Borges… o por qué no alguno de Bradbury, K.Dick, H.G Wells, Asimov… Cualquier texto que me atrape.

I enjoy listen to the most diverse types of rhythms and melodies, from a nice classical pace up to a moved funk beat. I especially like the kind of music that moves me to dance. I also don’t have any predilection for any particular filmic genre, although I have a special affection for Sience Fiction. “2001:A space odyssey is one of my favourites films.
Lately I have been reading mostly theory and political texts, but I still enjoy short stories, maybe a short story is what I most like to read. I love the latin-amercans Rulfo, Arreola, Monterroso, Cortazar, Quiroga, Borges… or some SciFy like Bradbury, K.Dick, H.G Wells, Asimov…any story that catches me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

¿Increíble? No he escalado el Monte Everest ni buceado cerca de la fosa de Las Marianas, pero despertarse con el sol todos los días y hacer lo que te gusta me parece increíble.

Amazing? I have not climbed Mount Everest or snorkeled near the Mariana Trench, but waking up every day with the sun and doing what I like looks amazing

Teach, Learn, Share

Estaría gustoso de aprender lo que fuera, desde recetas de cocina hasta juegos de mesa. Me interesa aprender las formas particulares de ver la vida de otras personas, de culturas e historias de vida distintas. Yo estaré contento de compartir mis puntos de vista personales y todo lo poco que conozca sin importar el tema. Debo confesar que al compartir ideas, siempre disfruto de debatir ciertos puntos - tengo una naturaleza política - pero siempre respetuosa.
I'd be happy to learn anything, from food recipes to board games. I am interested to learn the particular ways of seeing life from other people, different cultures and life histories. I'll be happy to share my personal views and every little thing I know no matter the subject. I must confess that I enjoy discussing certain points when I share Ideas - I have a political nature- but always in a respectful way.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Puedo ofrecer una buena y amena plática, quizá cocinar algún platillo de mis tierras. En general puedo compartir sobre las pocas cosas que sé, quizá entre los dos podamos hacer algo con ello.

I can offer a nice and pleasant conversation; maybe cook a tasty meal from Mexico. In general I can share the few things I know, may be with those we can make something else.
