About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Go everywhere and anywhere. And find a mission.

I'm currently travelling in Europe and hoping to do some couchsurfing!

ABOUT ME

I think I'm a pretty warm and friendly person. I like meeting new people, and get on well with internationally-minded types!

I just spent 2 1/2 years teaching English in Korea, now travelling until the end of the year.

A positive attitude can improve almost any situation :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I just recently tried couchsurfing for the first time, and so far I love it. Been meeting some amazing people, and every experience I've had has been great. It's so fun to meet locals and hear about their cities through their eyes!

Interests

One thing I'm really passionate about is travel-- just like probably every person on here! Always lusting after the next destination. I also love picnics, wine, camping, reading, sewing, cooking and wine. I'm really passionate about sewing, be cautious asking me about it because if you show any real sign of interest there's a risk that I'll totally talk your ears off.

Music, Movies, and Books

I guess I like indie folk/indie pop? There are lots of artists I love, but there's no one in particular I'm super obsessed with. To be honest, these days the main thing I listen to is the BBC Global News podcast....

Currently trying to read a book for each country I go to, set in the country and by a local author. Would love suggestions for yours!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Just one? Here are a few favorite travel-experiences
*Volcano-boarding in Nicaragua: Standing at the top of a volcano we'd just hiked up, wearing a bright orange jumpsuit and about to slide down on a wooden board, looking through the gaps in the clouds at the bus down the bottom.
*Sleeping in a guest room inside a mosque in Indonesia, and lying in bed half-awake watching while the two girls I was with, wearing floor length white veils, do their pre-dawn prayers in the moonlight. It felt like a dream!
*Motor-scootering along terrifyingly high and windy roads outside of Hualien, Taiwan, with the river valley far below.
June 2016: cycled from Brussels to Amsterdam, couchsurfing on the way!
