About Me

Hey everyone! I'm Aman, a passionate startupper hailing from the beautiful country of Kyrgyzstan. With two successful exits under my belt, I've been fortunate to experience the thrilling world of entrepreneurship firsthand. Currently based in Chicago, IL, I find solace in exploring new destinations and immersing myself in different cultures.

Nature is my ultimate source of inspiration and rejuvenation. I absolutely adore hiking through breathtaking landscapes, kayaking in serene waters, and enjoying delightful picnics in the great outdoors. Traveling has allowed me to witness the mesmerizing wonders of nature across various countries, but my heart yearns for new adventures and hidden gems.

Throughout my academic journey, I had the privilege of studying in three diverse countries—Turkey, China, and Poland. This exposure has broadened my horizons and deepened my appreciation for global perspectives. In my free time, I often delve into history books and fascinating autobiographies, finding solace in the tales of remarkable individuals who have shaped the world we live in.

Music is another passion that brings me immense joy. Pop music is my go-to genre, but I also appreciate the enchanting melodies of Einaudi, the captivating compositions by Hans Zimmer, the timeless classics of Queen and the Beatles, as well as the soulful tunes of Bob Marley.

Sports play a significant role in my life too, and soccer holds a special place in my heart. There's nothing quite like the thrill of a competitive match or the camaraderie shared with fellow players on the field.

Recently, I tied the knot with a wonderful person who happens to be a psychologist. Together, we share a common interest in marketing, HR management, psychology, and the dynamic world of startups. We constantly seek opportunities to expand our knowledge and gain valuable insights into these fascinating fields.

I look forward to connecting with fellow travelers, sharing stories, and creating memorable experiences. Let's embark on this exciting journey together!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I joined Couchsurfing with a sense of rediscovery and a newfound appreciation for the power of genuine connections. Throughout my travels, I have explored various ways of experiencing new destinations, ranging from hotels booked through platforms like Booking.com, hostels, and even staying with friends. However, a recent conversation with my uncle sparked a realization that left a lasting impact on me.

My uncle reached out to me, seeking assistance with translation for a chance encounter he had with a tourist in the quaint town of Kochkor, Kyrgyzstan. Intrigued by the traveler's journey, my uncle wanted to extend an invitation to his home, showcasing the local culture, introducing them to friends and family, and sharing the hidden treasures of the area. As I stepped into the role of a translator, I discovered a deep sense of fulfillment in facilitating this connection between cultures.

Memories from my childhood resurfaced, reminding me of the times when we warmly welcomed guests into our home. It was during those moments that I realized the intrinsic joy of sharing hospitality and forging meaningful bonds. It was then that I recalled opening my Couchsurfing account back in 2017, although the exact reason escapes me. However, now, I find myself compelled to embrace Couchsurfing as a platform to explore places through the eyes of locals and extend my own hospitality to fellow travelers.

When it came time to plan my own vacation, I reflected on the options I had tried before, but Couchsurfing undoubtedly stood out. The opportunity to immerse myself in local cultures, forge genuine connections, and create lasting memories as both a guest and a host was simply irresistible. Thus, I wholeheartedly choose Couchsurfing as my preferred way to travel and engage with the world around me.

Join me on this incredible journey of shared experiences, cultural exchange, and the joy of connecting with kindred spirits. Let's embark on an adventure that transcends borders and embraces the true essence of travel.
