About Me
Welcome to the South! I'm a transplanted Yankee, and I'm actually an old hand at hosting, but a divorce requires a new account in my own name. I teach high school and college English, read and write, and raise a couple of great dogs.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have MANY couch surfing friends, and I love meeting new people and learning new things about the world in which I live.
Interests
Because I teach English, READING. I try to keep up with the latest Young Adult fiction since that is the genre my students read, but my especial love is science fiction. I am an eight time participant in NaNoWriMo, and I've finished six times. I do have three dogs, of various ages from old to young, and they are well behaved and super friendly aggressive snugglers. I also love to cook, so when you visit, you're getting fed.

Music, Movies, and Books
Classic rock, grunge rock, indie rock, Christian praise and worship, classical, metal, alternative, dubstep and chill step, some R&B, some rap, some country.. pretty much everything, depending on the day and the mood.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
This is my twelfth year teaching high school. I love teaching teenagers, and I really like my school. It's not the best high school, but it's good. And I've raised four great kids to mostly successful adulthood and none of them have ended up in jail or on the nightly news, and they all made good grades in college.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am very familiar with traveling through and around the US, courtesy of my years as a truck driver's wife, so if you're going from there to here, or here to there, I can give you some direction, if you need it
What I Can Share with Hosts
When you come to visit, to let me know that you've read this far and have carefully considered your request, please remind me that I own a leather couch. :D
Countries I’ve Visited
France, Spain
