Overview
About Me
I just graduated from KU with my Master's in English. I loved the opportunity to spend 3 years talking with people about books of all kinds (though my favorites are 20th c American and Science Fiction). I got to spend 3 years learning, working with students, and thinking about what it means to be alive. And some opportunities for travel in there, too!
One of the main reasons I went to school is because I realized how important it is to write well. I took freshman composition at a community college and it shocked me that students couldn't even tell if their writing was good or weak. I love words, I love working with words (both as a poet & blogger) and helping others with their words. I got to teach students how to love poetry last fall, and that was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life thus far.
Consider myself a very easy-going person, very close with my family. I love learning, about food, coffee, words, science, technology, and about people. The beauty of being alive is getting to explore being human, and the best way to do that is through getting to talk to people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My sister has an internship up in Maryland this summer and we want to make it a roadtrip getting out there.
Life is too short to get lost in the bureaucracy of comfort and security.
To meet people! What an amazing way to connect.
