Overview
About Me
I love reading, traveling, and post cards.
I am currently on a (hopefully) never ending around the world trip. I am keeping a record of my travels at amandaroundtheglobe.com and am on youtube at Amanda Round the Globe (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvs9qpKEYJ66PLgtFN505_w )
I am vegan and do not drink alcohol, but I love coffee!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've been using couchsurfing to make friends and stay in a home-y type of environment while traveling. I am now about to hit two years on the road - I've visited over 24 countries in the past two years!
Interests
I love being active - hiking, biking, swimming, running. I ran the Napa Valley Marathon in March 2015. I also love coffee and healthy food! I am a vegan which I think makes traveling a little more adventurous. :)
I am also a big fan of reading, making new friends, sudoku, chamomile tea, dark chocolate, and bread.

Music, Movies, and Books
I have what others have described as the worst taste in movies. My favorites include Pitch Perfect, Bridesmaids, etc. I also love Hunger Games :)
I love audio books, mostly personal development. I am currently listening to Brene Brown's "The Power of Vulnerability."
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
jumped off the Grand Canyon in Chiang Mai, Thailand
ran a marathon in Napa Valley, CA
hiked the mountains outside of Barcelona to see an incredible view of the city
picked coffee beans and roasted them in Colombia
visited Machu Picchu on the foggiest day of the year
drove over the Panama Canal
crashed a motorbike in Ometepe, Nicaragua, and then crashed a second bike in Koh Samui, Thailand. I am really good at driving them now, I swear!
learned salsa dancing in Colombia
lived abroad
quit my job to travel the world :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I am learning German and French, and would love to talk with people who know these languages. I currently know about 2% of the German language (that's what Duolingo says:)). I took 5 years of Spanish classes in school, but that was a while ago, so I would like to get back to knowing Spanish. Conversation exchange would be awesome!
I also have a very extensive knowledge of wine (from working in the wine industry for years), and a good knowledge of nutrition as well. I can cook a mean vegan dish!
What I Can Share with Hosts
