About Me

I’m a twenty-year old university student currently studying abroad in Spain for a semester. Growing up, I’d flip through piles of National Geographic and dreamed about going to the incredible places in the photographs. Once I graduate, I’m considering joining the Peace Corps in a Latin American country because I enjoy helping people and this way I can improve my language skills too.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel and meet new people. This is a great way to do both at once. Sadly, I can’t offer my house to anyone, as it’s not mine but my parents, but I’d like to give tours.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a music fan. “Soy Yo” by Bomba Estéreo makes my heart beat faster. There’s also pretty much everything that Sam Tsui, Shakira, and Bea Miller have performed.
I was enchanted by the film “ Now You See Me” and let down by the sequel. I’ve also enjoyed Spiderman Homecoming ( Tom Holland is amazing), BlacKkKlansman ( a disheartening and vivid depiction of the racism, sexism, and homophobia that lingers in my country), and A Primera Vista which is the foil to cliché love stories.
I can’t believe I have to pick my favorite books~ there’s too many! Well, I guess on top of the list would be The Count of Monte Cristo ( which engaging plot and beautiful writing makes it easy to read the hundreds of pages), the Percy Jackson/ Lost Hero series, and A Boy Called H ( historical fiction about a boy’s life in Japan around the Pacific War).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I travelled to Spain by myself. No third party program or even a friend to accompany me. I come from a “bubble” town, which means I’ve been pretty sheltered growing up. Flying for ten hours, staying with a host family, and staying in a country where my native tongue isn’t the main language is out of my comfort zone. However, my delight to be here far outweighs any stress.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you ever go to Bilbao, Spain~ you must try the popular Carolina pastry. For any sweet tooths ( like me), the unbalanced cream to pastry ratio will make you salivate.
Thanks to a theatre-savvy friend of mine, I’ve been to countless plays and musicals in Chicago Navy Pier and always leave them with a standing ovation.
The Children’s Museum in Saint Louis is the playground of everyone’s dreams. There are giant slides, countless tunnels, fish ponds even! While some of it is spatially designed for kids, grownups will have a lot of fun here too.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love learning and teaching languages, so if you’re interested in Spanish or English, let’s have a conversation. Also, I could share United States culture and my travel stories.

Countries I’ve Visited
