I love to travel and explore new areas. I think my favourite part about going to new places is trying new food, learning about the culture and history about how the area came to be what it is today, and seeing all of the historic sites.

I'm happily married and have an awesome goldendoodle named Waffles. My husband and I like to be very active and some may consider us adrenaline junkies. On our most recent adventures, we enjoyed learning to windsurf, water ski, snow ski, and salsa dancing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would like to meet locals to share stories and fully immerse ourselves in the culture. I've stayed in a hostel before, met some great people on vacations, and stayed at friend's houses while out of town so this seemed like the natural next step. Many of the people we met at the hostel and on vacations have become friends that we still remain in touch with years later.

Interests

Hmmm..... where to start. I really enjoy being active and outdoors including canoeing, kayaking, ziplining, salsa, tennis, skiing, salsa dancing, campfires, swimming, sailing, poi, rock climbing, windsurfing, walking our bestest pup, paddle boating, going to concerts, and walking around exploring new places. There's so many more things I'd like to try in this lifetime.... just need more vacation days!

On the other hand, I also enjoy staying in and having a relaxing evening with company such as playing board games, video games, movies, potlucks/cooking, watching live music, watching silly Youtube videos, hanging out on patios and admiring the view.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favourite music has to be rock/alternative but I also like most genres of music.... except country. Most recent concerts were Linkin Park, 30 Seconds to Mars, Halestorm, 3 Days Grace, Pink, the Fray, Kelly Clarkson, Shinedown, Kiss, Rock on the Range, probably more that I will have to add later!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think the most recent was surprising my husband with a trip to Alaska for his 30th birthday and had his best friend and his wife whom he hadn't seen in years (moved to another province) join us. I will always remember his reaction when he spotted his friend in the bar right before we all boarded the cruise ship.
