About Me

Hi! I'm a Journalism student at New York University!! I have three older brothers, so I love sports, especially hockey! I'm also a huge fan of dogs and animals in general. My dream is to become a foreign correspondent someday in order to cover humanitarian issues across the globe. I'm a feminist. My parents are both Deaf, and I am fluent in American Sign Language. I'm trying to learn Spanish, and would be happy to host anyone who wants to speak in Spanish or ASL. I'm also interested in learning some Afrikaans, Swahili, Arabic or Chinese if you speak those :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have stayed with locals in Switzerland and in Poland and I loved it, so I thought I would give couch surfing a try. I really love learning about other cultures.
All of my experiences couch-surfing have been unforgettable and I've learned something from each friend along the way! I really believe in the model of couch surfing and the joy it can bring participants. I couchsurfed numerous times in Europe and hope to couch surf again when I travel in the future :)

Interests

I love dancing- I know how to do both ballroom dance and hip hop dancing. My favorite couples dance is the Swing dance. I am also a huge dog lover and volunteer at an animal shelter in Connecticut. Besides that, I spend a lot of time writing, whether it be for my blog, diary or for a newspaper. I'm an enthusiastic, happy, and energetic person. :) I also love art, drawing and crafts.

I can cook (I love cooking Italian food), and I excel at baking!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Anything :) I love rock, country and pop.
Movies: It would be easier for me to name my favorite TV shows, which are Gilmore Girls, Game of Thrones, Jane the Virgin, Brooklyn 99, Parks & Rec, FRIENDS, Once Upon a Time, & What I Like About You.
Books: Everything! I love books and reading. I love Meg Cabot and Cheryl Strayed. I haven't yet found my favorite book.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This is a hard question, because what is amazing to one person may sound normal to another. I think it was pretty amazing that I skiied in the Alps. It was a lifelong dream of mine.

Other interesting things I've done: pet a wolf, cliff-dove in Bermuda, snorkeled in the Florida Keys (and saw a sea turtle!), kissed the Blarney Stone, cooked Jellyfish in China, eaten snake, gone to the Sundance Film Festival.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can talk with them on my opinion on global politics, I can tell them about fun places to go/visit in other cities or in America, I can compare/contrast my culture vs. theirs, I can teach them Sign Language :)

I love talking and having great conversations. I am also very polite, and I always make my bed in the morning! :)
