Overview
About Me
A girl gone international, love for sports and food - cooking and eating out - and of course, travel. After 6 years behind a desk I got the courage to quit my job and go so see what is out there. 'Do what you love' ...
I am going on self discovery journey in 2016, by following my instinct and see where it takes me. I spontaneously decided to pick Cancun as my starting point and see how far south in central/South America I end up.
If you can't tell from my initial intro - I am very independent but also responsible, sociable and love to meet new people, especially the locals.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I joined couchsurfing about 8 years ago and thought the concept was absolutely fabulous for those wanting to discover a place through the eyes of a local and not get scammed for overly priced and dirty backpacker hostels selling unauthentic excursions. (though I am sure I will have to join some along the way...)
I would love to also be a host but I haven't had the chance due to my flatmates not approving the stay of a stranger or the fact that my room was the size of a shoebox. I do, however, love taking newbies around the city of Amsterdam and tell them all about the ins and outs of town.
Interests
I'd say food comes first. Unfortunately I found out I am histamine intolerant, which made me cut out lactose, gluten and many other green goodies for 80% of the week.
Sports > beach volleyball, crossfit, boxing, running, yoga on a weekly basis > snowboarding, hiking, wakeboarding, bungee jump, skydive whenever I can!
Fashion.
Travel. City trips whenever I have the time and €€€

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: oldies/ Soultronic / Jazz / indie bands / very open minded as long as it's not heavy metal or heavy deep house
Movies: sucker for dance films, love a Wes Anderson and Amelie Poulin is just the cutest
Books: not a big reader I must admit. Fiction doesn't do me much. Rather read true based life stories.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have done many amazing things that I would love to share with you over a G&T or beer or wine...
But if I have to choose one, I must say kayaking up 2000m through an ice cold glacier lake, followed by a hike up the glacier. Best 30th birthday I could have hoped for.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to do a walking handstand.
I can learn Spanish from you.
I can share mindfulness techniques.
