My partner and I currently live in Princes Risborough doing 9 to 5 management type jobs. We're both outgoing, open minded, caring, sociable people, love intelligent conversation and talking rubbish in equal measure!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Researching about travelling in America (planning the 6 month trip), we stumbled across some stuff about couchsurfing, which we had first heard about on watching interviews with Amanda Palmer (we are fans - she is awesome!). We thought - this is exactly what we want for when we travel in America - a more authentic, genuine and interesting experience. Yey! And we both really enjoy meeting new people and hosting in our home so it seems like an awesome thing for us to do before and after our own trip.

Interests

Socialising, eating, cooking (I particularly enjoy cooking healthy dinner party food - an unusual mix I know), pubs, bars, clubs, snowboarding, walking, running, sleeping (I am really good at this - I can sleep literally anywhere). Ethics, equality, environmental issues, politics.

Music, Movies, and Books

Like most music - not so keen on speed metal and teeny pop. Like off the wall stuff. Partner is known to play a lot of Jake Thackery and Jay Foreman at the end of a night. Going out: enjoy mainstream music as well as Dance, Industrial, Heavy Metal and Steam Punk (yes, I know, Steam Punk is not really a music genre but that kind of stuff eg Professor Elemental...Google him. Very funny; awesome live)
Read/watch all sorts - like learning stuff from novels/movies but also enjoy comedy (current favs are Brooklyn Nine Nine and Big Bang Theory), crime fiction, political drama (eg House of Cards) and fantasy stuff (especially Supernatural and Game of Thrones). Don't watch soaps. Read quite a few psychology books and am studying an entry level open university course in it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Depends what you mean by amazing. I nearly flew to New Zealand by accident once. That was pretty amazing. Fortunately the mistake was realised and they kicked me off the plane before it took off.

Teach, Learn, Share

I assume this means what can I offer for people staying.
The below plus insight into British culture for non Brits, and into the local area for anyone. And a decent, friendly place to sleep with good food. If you like dogs (to meet, not eat). We have a small brown dog. Who is very friendly and loving if you like dogs (she's a complete affection sponge). And very annoying if you don't (she's a complete affection sponge).

What I Can Share with Hosts

Reasonably intelligent, passionate conversation, the balance of which may change after a drink or two ;-)
Info/my opinion on places I have lived and visited.
Some interesting and unusual philosophies on life.
Same things goes for my partner who is pretty much a male version of me. Though he's travelled a bit less and lived a bit more!
