I'm Amanda, a Malaysian student studying in the United States. I grew up in multiple places throughout my childhood (TCK shoutout) and enjoy meeting people from all over the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

While I was WWOOFing on a horse ranch in Korea this summer, I met an amazing group of people whose hospitality and generosity astounded me. They brought us out to the beach, showed us how to eat 치맥 (chicken and beer) Korean-style, taught us how to eat samgyeopsal etc. To date, it remains one of my most cherished memories. When I return to Minneapolis, I would love to extend this generosity to other travelers through couchsurfing and make them feel like they have a home away from home.

Currently, I am travelling around South Korea (mostly through WWOOFing). However, having been in the countryside for awhile, I'm looking for a change of pace by going to Seoul. I would love to couchsurf and meetup with people, so feel free to hit me up.

Music, Movies, and Books

TV SHOWS - I have an unhealthy obsession with Korean variety shows. Favorites: Family Outing (패밀리가 떴다). Running Man and Happy Together. Occasionally I also venture into the realm of K-dramas.

BOOKS - I like crime fiction and anything with lots of suspense.

MUSIC - pop, soul, R&B, country, jazz, anything goes! but acoustic covers tingle my heart. Korean drama OSTs also kill me every time.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you Mandarin Chinese and English, both are languages I've spoken since young. In college, I regularly edited papers for ESL learners so that's something I can help you out with!

I wanna learn how to cook better and to improve my Korean. I would also love to learn to do outdoorsy stuff like camping and skiing.
