About Me

28 year old woman, currently living in Gothenburg with my partner Anton. We love to daydream about living in the country-side with pet cows and many many dogs. I like growing veggies in our urban garden, tending to plants and playing boardgames with friends. Want to work with sustainability and gardening in the future. Resource-management nerd thanks to my line of work atm. Anton writes short stories, is a fantastic Dungeon Master for our group of players and makes a mean west-african peanut stew . He also loves comic books and graphic novels.

We are pretty new members of couchsurfing, but had a great experience in Montréal, and are looking for more!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The first and so far, only couchsurfing-experience we had was in Montreal, during a roadtrip in Canada which ensued into a roadtrip in the US. We had the best time with great hosts who were so open and helpful. Although we planned on staying with more couchsurfers we ended up staying with acquaintances or friends during our roadtrip. We also went WWOOFing in California which was equally rewarding. After some time of not having enough money or time to travel, me and my partner want to make some shorter trips around Europe to settle our itch to get out of Gothenburg. Eyes set on Paris, Bruges, maybe Scottish Highlands in the near future. The time has come for Edinburg and Isle of Skye.

Interests

Both me and my partner are pretty easygoing travellers. Looking for hosts who are social, we're very comfortable exploring but definitely open to hanging out with hosts. Not big on parties unless smaller social gatherings or going out to bars, not really in it for the club-scene. Love boardgames, live performances, going on tours and eating a bunch of food while on the road.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music- from Feist to Radiohead to Beck to Bach, to Bjork and back. Swaying to most music that isnt eurodisco or heavy metal.

Movies that fall into the anime(miyazaki)genre, everything that Wes Anderson or Greenaway does. Good old Swedish trippy comedy a la Hasse and Tage. Realizing I can't name any favourite female directors I feel terrible (although I am certain that I've seen a great deal of movies with female directors) so please throw me some good ones my way.

Books:
The good kind of Stephen King
Iain M Banks
Margaret Atwood
Terry Pratchett
Ursula K le Guin
Roz Chast
Montaigne
Naomi Klein
Donna Tartt - and the classics

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2013, I had the chance to participate in a restoration project in Cambodia (Koh Rong Samloem), where I got to survey and catalogue marine life in the Gulf of Thailand. I learned about the process of creating new marine protected areas and I also got my Rescue diver certificate.

Teach, Learn, Share

We love to cook and can make food for you! Traditional Swedish stuff or our killer west african peanut and yamstew. Vegetarians at home, Anton is a meat-eater away. Are you into boardgames, we'll play with you.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Great at Mario Kart we're bringing a Nintendo Switch so we can play together, love movies, music and cooking! Up for exploring the location solo or together with out hosts. Loves boardgames, beer and coffee!
