Overview
About Me
I am an aspiring traveler, after years of working and studying I have realized that the most fulfilling life for me is one that involves travel, trying new things, meeting new people. I have also (very)recently taken up photography, so I would love the opportunity to photograph all the beautiful people that contribute to my experience while I travel.
I am energetic and friendly, and I am driven by a desire to learn as much as possible from the people I surround myself with. I love challenges and learning something new (as long as it doesn't involve heights, eep!). I love to read, my current reading list includes various titles relating to religion, World War II and more general political issues.
The thing that brings me the most joy in the world is food! You can take me anywhere and I will be willing to try it (as long as it is vegan-friendly). I also love to cook and brainstorm recipes with people in the kitchen.
If we have the opportunity to meet, be prepared for in-depth discussions about nothing and everything, plenty of exploring (especially the outdoors), lots of eating and the potential loss of dignity as we both fail to conquer whichever new skill I have decided to learn.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My next journey will be a long one that will take me through the US, Canada, UK and the rest of Europe. Most of these places I haven't been before so of course, I will be taking in my various surroundings, seeing the sights and spending a lot of time in nature. But more than that I want to connect with people from the places I visit. I want to experience their culture and learn about their communities, politics, daily challenges, and those little things that keep them going day to day.
I want to use these experiences to build a network of like-minded worldly travelers, one that allows us to learn together, explore together and share whatever we have to offer.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spent a month in Vietnam at the end of my degree, volunteering for an NGO, helping to teach English to disadvantaged youth who were working through a 2-year program to become qualified in hospitality so that they could get good jobs and give back to their family's and communities. Most of the students that finished this program continued to be quite successful, opening their own restaurants or clubs and offering jobs to new students that were also completing the course.
It was amazing and inspiring to be around these young people who were not too much younger than I was. They had had horrific events happen in their life but they believed it had just been some bad luck and only they had the power to turn their luck around through honest and hard work.
Countries I’ve Visited
Fiji, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, United States, Viet Nam
