About Me
Hello! My name is Amanda Theisen. I grew up in the St. Joseph/St. Cloud, Minnesota area. My family lives on a small farm just outside of the quaint town of St. Joseph. I, however, do not live there most of the time. Summer of 2020 I start Physical Therapy school at Pacific University in Oregon. I have strong desire to explore, learn, and experience. What better way to do that than to travel? Traveling is one of my biggest passions in life but I also have many more. I am an avid ultra distance runner, I enjoy writing, playing the cello and piano, meeting new people and hanging out friends and family. During this time in transition (moving from family basement out west, I am unable to host travelers at this time.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My passion lies with the lifestyle of a traveler. The world has many things to offer- new perspectives, crazy experiences, breathtaking views, and connections stronger than words can describe. I long to experience what this world has to offer and would love to help others do the same.
Interests
I have such a wide variety of interests... I don't even know where to start. Obviously traveling is near the top... My biggest passion in life is long distance running- I relish in the free feeling that comes with it; both mind and body completely free from daily binds. In the last couple years, I have gotten into ultra distances and can only see myself adding more milage as the time goes on. I love to read, write, backpack, cook and engage in deep conversation.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like music of most kinds- classical, Irish, folk, bluegrass, jazz, hip-hop, techno, some rap, oldies and more. Favorites would include Hans Zimmer, Nathanial Smith, Vance Joy, Fleet Foxes, Frank Sinatra, Chainsmokers and John Mayer.
I enjoy the Harry Potter books and movies, Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, Race, and Unbroken.
As for books- I love to read mostly about running and health- books like Eat and Run, Run the World, and Born to Run. I have also really enjoyed the Harry Potter series... that may or may not be an understatement.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I ran Rim-to-rim-to-rim of the Grand Canyon this year
