About Me

Hi everyone! My name's Amanda, and I'm an adventurous child with a wandering heart and a passion for traveling and meeting new people. I was born and raised in the US, North Carolina in particular. I spent some time studying art at a university set up in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, but I'm currently taking a break from school to explore this wonderful world. If I had to sum up my personality in five words, it would be adventurous, creative, compassionate, curious, and quirky.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

One of my favorite things in experiencing life is the people I meet. I think the connections we build and the memories we make have such a beautiful impact on our understanding of ourselves and the world. Couchsurfing happens to be a wonderful way to meet more people.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: indie/folk pop is probably my favorite genre, but I honestly have a really wide range of tastes. Favorite song at the moment is Call You Home by Mangas Colorado, but that tends to change every week

Movies: Beautiful Mind, interstellar, The Prestige, breakfast club, dead poets society, finding nemo, lion king

Books: The Alchemist, A Long Way Gone, Grendel, the Miracle of Mindfulness, anything on different cultures/religions. I'm currently reading a bunch of books at the same time, but I'd love to hear any suggestions

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once, I had breakfast in Rome, lunch in Paris, and dinner in Tel Aviv, all in a span of 24 hours.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach Art or help you with your English, but mostly, I'd just like to share my stories with you and have you share yours with me! Also, if you know Spanish or Hebrew, I'm currently working on learning those languages, so I'd love to practice.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my passions, interests, experiences and personal culture with you! I love having quality conversations with people, exchanging stories, concepts, etc. I am also an art major, so I would love to be able to share my passion for art and art history with you. Otherwise, hopefully I'll be able to bring a fun and enjoyable time full of many, many laughs! :)
